Ted Wing Appreciation Night Aug. 3 at The Meadowlands

by Courtney Stafford, for the SBOANJ

Manalapan, NJ — Allerage Farms (Jeff and Paula Gural) and the SBOANJ are hosting the Ted Wing Appreciation Night on Friday (Aug. 3) at The Meadowlands to celebrate his nomination to the Hall of Fame.

Wing’s record-setting career, which began in his home state of Maine, has spanned five decades. He was the youngest driver, at the age of 26 in 1975, to reach 1,000 wins and second youngest to 3,000. He was the top driver in New England from 1970-1975, enjoying an unprecedented run of titles at Foxboro and Rockingham, and thought of highly enough to be sought out by race secretary Joe DeFrank to race at the Meadowlands when it opened in 1976. In 1978, he won the Meadowlands driving title and made history as the only driver to simultaneously take top honors at the Meadowlands, Roosevelt and Yonkers.

The cocktail party will be held in the Meadowlands Skyboxes on Friday from 6:30-11:30 p.m.

We want to take this opportunity to celebrate all of his accomplishments throughout his career.
