Tequila Talkin first-over to Meadows victory

Washington, PA — Unhurried throughout the opening half, Tequila Talkin launched a protracted first-over move that carried him past the leader in mid-stretch and on to victory in Thursday’s (Jan. 4) $19,200 Open Handicap Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Tequila Talkin was fourth when Ronnie Wrenn Jr. moved him off the cones and sent him after Emerald’s Legacy on the point. The 9-year-old Cantab Hall-Margarita Nights gelding cleared easily and triumphed in 1:53.4, two lengths better than the rallying Ponda Adventure. Guido Di was a ground-saving third.
