Terhune, who has worked for the Association for 18 years, was named USTA registrar in 2008, a position in which she oversees the registration of Standardbred foals and works with breeders on all rules and procedures related to horse breeding.
Prior to becoming registrar, Terhune worked in the USTA Information and Research Department on such projects as the Sires and Dams, currency conversion, black type assignments, pedigrees, and on the design of PATHWAY. She served as a delegate to the 2009 World Trotting Conference, and will assist in the planning of the 2011 Conference, which will be hosted by the USTA.
“Janet has done a superb job as our registrar,” Tanner said. “Given the common, overlapping issues frequently confronted by our Registration and Member Service Departments, I think this move gives us the opportunity to streamline our operations, improve both internal and external communication, and employ an economy of scale that is just good business.”
