Terrance Blair, 67, dies

Columbus, OH — Blair, Terrence L., age 67, of Washington Township, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014. Terry was born November 23, 1946 in La Porte, IN.

He received his M.B.A. with honors from the University of Notre Dame in 1971 and a B.B.A. from Loyola University in 1969. Terry was the CFO of Buckeye Pools, Inc. from 1991-present. He was also employed at I-Supply Co. from 1988-1990; T.L. Blair & Associates from 1980-1988; Flagel, Huber, Flagel CPA’s from 1978-1979; and Charles F. Kettering Foundation from 1971-1978.

He was very active in politics including his role as a State Representative from 2009-present and as Trustee for Washington Township, Montgomery County, OH from 1988-2009. Terry was an active member of the Centerville Noon Optimist Club, the American Business Club of Dayton, the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Dayton, the Centerville Rod and Reel Club, the Sugar Valley Country Club, the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, the U.S. Trotting Association and the Ohio Thoroughbred Breeders & Owners. He served as Ohio State Representative for three terms and during that time worked very hard building the industry by supporting the Racino’s. For the last 30+ years he has been in Partnership with Rick Martindale.

He was a wise and caring man who enjoyed spending time with his family. Terry is preceded in death by his father, Stanley F. Blair. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy L. Blair; children, Tiffany (Scott) vonClausburg, Holly (Tim) Soter, Emily (Chris) Durbin and David (Beth) Blair; grandchildren, Nathan, Terry, Zoe, Adam, Elliott, Sophia, Norah, Stella and Matilda; mother, Edna Blair and sister, Sherry Clark; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family will greet friends from 2-6 pm Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, June 30, 2014 at The Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville.
