Saint Johns Boy held off Moneyball by a head in the $25,000 Winners Over Trot.

In the $25,000 Winners Over Trot, Tetrick made good use of staring from the rail, putting M&M Harness Racing’s Saint Johns Boy into the early lead. The Lindy Lane gelding then held off a determined Broke As Usual A, piloted by Roger Plante, from the last turn until mid-stretch in 1:55.3 for his fourth win of the year. Moneyball closed for Mike Cole along the passing lane to edge Broke As Usual A for second-place honors.

Go Sassy Go, a Delbert Cain homebred daughter of CR Commando, proved again she was the top local trotting mare at the meet when George Dennis won his second of the three top trots, the $22,000 Winners Over, in a lifetime fastest 1:54.2. Dennis rolled the 6-year-old away from post eight to get the lead and then overpowered seven rivals to win her fourth of the meet. Lady Segil N was second with Tim Tetrick driving. Jessie Hall and Tony Morgan came on to finish third.

Fivedollarsforsox, overlooked at 11-1 after a similar victory last week, repeated his tactics by moving three-wide at the three-quarters and then pulled away to notch a 1:56.1 conquest in the $21,000 conditioned trot. George Dennis trains and drives the SJ’s Caviar gelding that he owns with Tina Dennis and Ask W Stables. Customize rolled in second for Sam Belote with Nikki’s Game and Jim King third.
