Campbellville, ON — Text Me rebounded from a sub-par fourth-place effort in last week’s elimination to capture the C$130,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Final for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters on Monday night (May 31) at Mohawk Racetrack — the first OSS event of the season in this division.

Text Me was a 1:55.1 winner in the OSS Gold Final on Monday.

With Randy Waples in the bike, the son of Kadabra-Dial Nile shot straight to the front from post nine and laid down splits of :28.1 and :57.1 before facing third-quarter pressure from Quantum Starship and Trevor Ritchie.

Text Me was prompted along through three-quarters in 1:25.3 before Quantum Starship made a costly break in stride. As the field turned for home, Text Me came under siege from a host of trotters but dug deep for a three-quarter length victory in 1:55.1. Longshot Whit Ken landed the place spot with Hidden Message finishing third and Dontgetinhisway rounding out the top four. The winner returned $15.50 while triggering a superfecta worth $4,722.75.

The victory was the second in four outings this season for last year’s O’Brien Award winner and boosted his career bankroll to just over C$450,000 for trainer Bob McIntosh who co-owns along with C S X Stables and Dave Boyle.
