Wilkes-Barre, PA — The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono is pleased to announce that the $100,000 Invitational Trot on August 22 will be named “The Sebastian K”. The event will honor the recently retired trotter who recorded the fastest trotting mile in the history of harness racing to date. The record shattering 1:49 effort was recorded at Pocono last year. Anyone interested in entering this invitational event should contact the Pocono Race Office as soon as possible.

Sebastian K will be the honored guest that night (August 22) on Super Stakes Saturday. There will be a retirement ceremony for the World Champion in the winner’s circle during the race card. Along with the $2.2 million Super Stakes that include The Battle of the Brandywine 3-year-old Open Pace, The Colonial 3-year-old Open Trot and The Valley Forge 3-year-old Filly Pace, there will be fireworks following the races. Post Time for the card will be 5:30 p.m.
