The Gypsy Queen IR refuses seat, rolls to fifth straight in Meadows feature

Washington, PA — The Gypsy Queen IR refused an early seat, powered on to the lead and never relinquished it, extending her winning streak to five in Wednesday’s (Jan. 10) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.

The Gypsy Queen IR had a chance to drop in third near the quarter, but driver Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. had other ideas. He urged the 6-year-old daughter of Foreclosure N-Cannae Diamonds past the early leader, Always Gonna B You, and The Gypsy Queen IR kept her seated right there, downing her by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:54.4 over a sloppy surface. Day To Party raced strongly first over to earn show.

Michael Burke trains the winner for Burke Racing Stable, which claimed The Gypsy Queen IR five back for $18,000.

Brady Brown piloted three winners on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (Jan. 11), first post 12:45 p.m.
