The ‘Harlem Shake’ at the Meadowlands

from the Meadowlands Media Relations Department

East Rutherford, NJ — The “Harlem Shake” is a dance craze that has taken over the Internet over the past few months. This dance craze entered into the harness racing world earlier this month when the Meadows Racetrack created its version of the dance. After receiving some feedback from fans and horsemen, the Meadowlands decided to create a “Shake” video of its own.

Meadowlands Racetrack made the “Harlem Shake” into two parts. Members of the Meadowlands and Sodexo management teams filmed the first video on Friday afternoon. In this clip, Jason Settlemoir, General Manager and CEO of Meadowlands Racetrack, makes his solo dancing debut. It also features cameo appearances by Superman, Wonder Woman, Woody from Toy Story, Alan from The Hangover and Elvis Presley.

Part two of the “Shake” was shot after Saturday morning qualifiers by drivers, trainers and a few Meadowlands employees. Keep your eyes open for Yannick Gringras (as Ron Pierce), Andy Miller, Simon and Rene Allard, Marcus Miller, Tim Tetrick, Ron Burke and Nick Surick.
