The Meadows announces new qualifying standards, draw schedule

Washington, PA — The Meadows Racetrack & Casino today announced new qualifying standards as well as new schedules for June qualifiers and race draws.

Effective June 1, the qualifying standard for overnight events will be 1:59 for pacers, 2:01 for trotters. (Current standards are 2:00 and 2:02, respectively.) For each gait, 2-year-olds are allowed four seconds, with 3-year-olds allowed two seconds.

The first June qualifying races will occur Saturday, June 5, at 10:30 a.m. Thereafter, June qualifiers will take place each Thursday at 10:30 a.m., with entries due by 10 a.m. Wednesday. Where possible, 2-year-olds will be grouped together in qualifiers.

Effective June 7, the new draw schedule is as follows:

Race Day–Draw–Final Scratches
Monday–Wednesday–Thursday
Tuesday–Thursday–Friday
Wednesday–Friday–Monday
Friday–Monday–Tuesday
Saturday–Tuesday–Wednesday
