Washington, PA – Starting Jan. 5, The Meadows Racing will introduce a new wager into its daily offerings. The standard Pick 5 will be replaced by a Jackpot wager on races 4-8.

It will be a 20-cent play with a 20-percent takeout rate.

“Our Super Hi 5, which is also a Jackpot pool wager, has proven to be very popular among bettors,” said Scott Lishia, director of racing. “The Pick 5, as a 50-cent wager, hasn’t been everyone’s favorite, but we believe that turning it into a 20-cent play with a Jackpot pool is going to give it new life.”

After takeout, the remaining pool will be split in the case of multiple winning tickets (or with no winning tickets), with 50 percent going to the winners and 50 percent to the Jackpot. It will take a single winning ticket to collect the Jackpot.

The 2022 racing season at The Meadows will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 5, with racing on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons at 12:45 p.m.
