London, ON — The Raceway at The Western Fair District is putting out a call for all senior citizen race horses to take part on the special New Year’s Eve program slated for Dec. 31 at 8 p.m.

The two special races on the card have been dubbed the Old Lang Syne Trot and Old Lang Syne Pace and the oldest eight horses entered in each of the respective races will be accepted.

Last year’s inaugural edition went to 12-year-old pacer Casimirbadmoonrisn and 10-year-old trotter Lucky George.

In addition to the New Year’s program, The Raceway will also host live racing on Boxing Day (Dec.26) at a special afternoon start time of 1:15 p.m.

Boxing Day is annually one of the busiest at The Raceway and lots has been planned this year, including brunch at the Top Of The Fair for $23.99, breakfast style buffet in the new Annex Lounge for just $9.99 and roast beef on a bun in the Carousel Room for only $7.99.

In addition, patrons will receive a commemorative Western Fair District 2013 calendar with program purchase (while supplies last) and have two chances to play Deal Or No Deal (each valued at $100). There will also be draws for Boxing Day gifts throughout the afternoon.
