Fully interactive and updated in real time, this app — like thestable.ca — is the first of its kind in harness racing. The app features drone training videos, weekly commentary videos, pedigrees, chat, and a racing calendar that will be fully integrated with multiple racetracks across North America by this summer.

“This app continues to ensure that clients of thestable.ca are the most informed clients in the horse racing industry,” said co-founder Anthony MacDonald. “Technology continues to advance our fractional racehorse ownership model by increasing the ease with which we can engage our clients. We’re selling a racehorse ownership experience; people want to interact with us, their horses and each other. The more interaction we facilitate, the more engaged they become.”

There are currently 103 horses and 440 active racehorse owners from 10 countries in The Stable. Trainers Anthony and Amy MacDonald launched the award-winning venture in 2015 as a fractional ownership stable — a model which welcomes newcomers to horse ownership with a very modest and low-risk investment, and completely accessible and transparent operations.

Clients of The Stable can purchase as little as one share (one percent) of a horse, which typically runs as low as $95 (plus tax). A fixed monthly fee of $23.85 (plus tax) per share covers the horse’s daily care and training.

The award-winning operation has proven to be a great tool for horse racing. MacDonald hopes the model he has built and refined is duplicated several times over, for the growth of the industry.

“The current app, its further development, and all of the communication tools of this fractional ownership model will continue to make it easier, more efficient and more effective to reach the general public,” said MacDonald. “This doesn’t just help The Stable. It should aid the industry in boosting exposure of horse racing and selling an affordable and engaging ownership model, at the click of a button.”

The app was developed by MacDonald’s whiz brother, Curtis MacDonald, responsible for building and delivering The Stable’s impressive video broadcasts.
