Thompson completes sweep of top pacing events at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — While Leonidas A took the headlines winning Sunday’s Potomac Pace at Rosecroft, Jason Thompson scored the biggest win on the undercard by winning the Open Pace with Jack Quick.

Wednesday night (Nov. 18), Thompson completed a sweep of the top pacing events for the week by winning the Mares Open with Psychic Blue Chip in 1:55.

It was Thompson’s second win on the card, both for trainer Jeff Clark who co-owns Psychic Blue Chip with Vernon Cannon and conditioned race two winner Cenalta Call Girl for Faithful Stables.

Driver Frank Milby won three times, twice for trainer Jason Walters, who also had three wins on the night. Milby scored with Explosive Drama in the opener and Soho Hanover for Walters in race five. Walters’ third win came with Flash’s Fool, who was guided to the winner’s circle by Luke Hanners. Milby completed his hat trick by winning with Lady Josephine for Murray Stable.

Jonathan Roberts won the Open Trot with Judge Bob for his sister Megan and Graham Grace Stables. He completed a driving double with Hickory Pandle for Richard Malone Jr.

Trainer Brittany Bounds won twice as Opulent won for Justin Vincent and Sean Bier won a thrilling finish with Ashtons Artillery.

Trainer-driver David Hill III won with his homebred mare Proud Maryet for the 31st time in her career. The 11-year-old Beach Romeo offspring was making her 310th career start.
