Three barns to be built at Buffalo Raceway

by Jon Cramer, for Buffalo Raceway

Hamburg, NY — Three new barns are to be built this fall at Buffalo Raceway, on The Fairgrounds in Hamburg, N.Y., pending New York State Racing and Wagering Board approval.

Two of the barns will include 52 permanent stalls, eight tack rooms, and four wash stalls, each measuring 10’ x 12’. The third barn will feature up to 60 stalls to be used as a permanent ship-in barn to accommodate horses shipping in on race nights.

This is the second phase of the Buffalo Raceway backstretch project. In all, six new barns will be constructed including the paddock.

“We are very pleased to be able to build three new barns in 2011, and at the same time fix some major drainage problems in the stable area,” said CEO Denis Lang. Adding these to the paddock that was completed in 2005, and increasing racing days by 10 percent in 2012, up to 99, should further solidify Buffalo Raceway’s position as a staple in harness racing’s east coast.”

Located on The Fairgrounds in Hamburg, N.Y., Buffalo Raceway concludes its 69th year of harness racing this weekend. Simulcast wagering is available year round in the spacious Clubhouse.

Buffalo to offer three percent rebate starting in September

Beginning September 1, Buffalo Raceway will offer patrons who wager $1,500 or more in a calendar month a three percent reward: two percent in the form of a wagering voucher and one percent in casino free play. Patrons must be members of the Buffalo Raceway Players Rewards and the Hamburg Casino Player Rewards clubs to be eligible.

“We are pleased to enter the arena of Player Rewards, and excited to share with the racing patrons the benefits of a successful multi-faceted operation at Buffalo Raceway and The Fairgrounds that include the raceway, casino, fair, and the many agricultural and horse related events,” said COO Jim Mango.
