Marlborough, MA — Tickets and journal ads for the New England chapter of the United States Harness Writers’ Association’s 31st Hall of Fame awards program are now on sale.

“This shoud be one heck of a party,” quipped Gary Piontkowski upon learning the news of his selection to the chapter’s highest honor.

The event will be held Sunday, September 6, and opens with a cocktail hour at 3:00 p.m. in Plainridge’s beaautiful upper hall, followed by dinner and the awards program.

Donna Merrick and Russell Paige are assisting the chapter with preparations that inducts Roger Slobody, Peter Blood, Gary Piontkowski and the late Townsend Ackerman to its Hall of Fame.

Additional awards have yet to be announced.

Journal ads are being chaired by Jack Ginnetti, who can be reached by phone (508.485.5815) or by mail at 103 Naugler Ave., Marlborough, MA 01752. Ad rates have been keep reasonable becaause of a tight economy. A full page is $150 and a half page costs $75. Black and white ads are requested and a full sized 8-1/2 x 11 journal, with the help of Russell Paige, is being produced.
