Time running out to Drive for Youth

from the Harness Horse Youth Foundation

Westfield, IN — The Harness Horse Youth Foundation’s annual fall fundraiser, Drive For Youth, is rapidly approaching, with an Oct. 5 kickoff at The Red Mile. The event runs through Oct. 11.

The Red Mile day will feature HHYF Trottingbred star Royal Attire and participants Jacob Zeiger and Maddy Lester leading post parades, as well as assistance from HHYF graduate and 2014 Sweet Karen Scholarship recipient Olivia Kimelman.

The Meadows will pony up on Oct. 8 and Oct. 10 under the guidance of Heather Wilder from MSOA.

Hoosier Park horsemen, led by advocates Brandon Bates and Lisa Avenatti, will be asked to donate on Oct. 10.

The Pennsylvania Horsemen’s Association also recently sent a significant donation.

“We are especially pleased to have new interest from tracks and organizations joining this important effort,” said HHYF Executive Director Ellen Taylor. “We welcome the racing community of drivers, trainers, and owners from any track to participate and encourage horsemen to think outside the box to support our programs. HHYF is deeply committed to increasing awareness of racing as well as teaching bright young minds about the sport.”
