Tioga to host handicapping contest

Nichols, NY — Tioga Downs will host a handicapping contest on Saturday, February 21, dubbed “The Mid-Winter Mayhem” that will span ten races on the Saturday night simulcast card.

The first half of the handicapping contest will be determined by the first five races from Yonkers Raceway, followed by races six through ten from the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Contestants will be required to pick the winner of each of the ten races for the handicapping contest.

Entry for the Mid-Winter Mayhem is free, and contestants will be given free food from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., then will be supplied with free coffee, soda, and water for the duration of the handicapping contest.

The prizes for the handicapping contest are as follows: 1st Place: $500 betting voucher; 2nd Place: $200 betting voucher; and 3rd Place: $100 betting voucher.

Vernon Downs just recently finished up their handicapping contest on Saturday, February 7, and more than 125 contestants showed up to test their handicapping knowledge.
