Tompkins-Geers races at Tioga on Friday

Nichols, NY — Freshman pacers and trotters take center stage at Tioga Downs on Friday (Aug. 10) in the Geers Stakes and Arthur Tompkins Memorial, respectively.

The Geers Stakes features two divisions of 2-year-old pacing fillies, as well as a pair of splits for their colt and gelding counterparts.

The morning-line favorite in the $29,500 first division of the Geers Stake for pacing fillies is Simone at 6-5. Trainer Homer Hochstetler will drive the daughter of American Ideal and Ritascape. The top choice in $30,000 the second division is the Mark Harder-trained entry of Crazy Cute (Art Major-Crazy Luv) and Money Shot Hanover (Art Major-Marinade). Andy Miller drives Crazy Cute and Tyler Buter drives Money Shot Hanover.

In the $25,200 first division of the Geers for freshman pacing colts and geldings, Goldberg (Mr Wiggles-Chausettes Blanche) is the morning-line choice at 2-1. He is trained by Brenda Teague and driven by Montrell Teague. In the $25,200 second division, the morning-line favorite is the Nik Drennan entry of Rockme Rollme (Roacknroll Dance-Promysquous Lady) and Onemilebridge (American Ideal-Aria J) at 2-1. Dave Miller drives Rockme Rollme, while Onemilebridge will be driven by Andy Miller.

The Arthur Tompkins Memorial races feature two divisions each of 2-year-old trotting fillies and 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings.

Golden Tracks (Trixton-Golden Goose) is the morning-line favorite in the $28,750 first filly division at 8-5. She is trained and driven by Åke Svanstedt. In the $29,250 second division, the morning-line favorite is Big Weezy (Trixton-Keepsake Hanover) at 2-1, trained by Nifty Norman and driven by David Miller.

The morning-line favorite for the $28,650 first colt and gelding Tompkins division is Chapter Fashion (Chapter Seven-New Hampshire Girl) at 9-5. He is trained by Jim Campbell and driven by Tim Tetrick. In the $29,150 second division, the 5-2 morning-line favorite is Brady Bunch (Muscle Mass-Miss Fidget), trained by Erv Miller and driven by Marcus Miller.
