Top Batavia Downs drivers featured on broadcast show

by Tim Bojarski, for Batavia Downs

Batavia, NY — The extremely close dash driving competition at Batavia Downs this year has brought a lot of attention to the track from fans and bettors alike. But it seems that the city of Batavia itself has gotten caught up in the three-way rivalry and as a result, has drawn the media’s attention there.

Radio station WBTA will be interviewing the Downs leading drivers Larry Stalbaum, Drew Monti and Ray Fisher Jr. on their morning feature show “Main and Center” hosted by radio personality Chris Kalen on Tuesday (Nov. 7) at 9 a.m.

The show can be heard live on WBTA 1490 AM, WBTA 100.1 FM or streamed live at www.wbtai.com under the “Listen Live” link. The show will also be podcast for listening and sharing after the show airs.

With only 17 days left in the meet, Stalbaum is the current leader with 97 wins, sitting ahead of last year’s dash winning driver Drew Monti and Ray Fisher Jr. who both have 93 wins at the end of this past week.

As evidence of the tight ongoing driving battle, all three reinsmen had three winners apiece on Saturday (Nov. 4) and are all scheduled to drive in nine out of the 10 races programmed for Wednesday afternoon.
