Delaware, OH — For the next few weeks the Little Brown Jug’s Assistant Publicity Director Jay Wolf will feature the top LBJ contenders for the 66th edition of the race on September 22.

1. Roll With Joe (Last Week #1)

The Ohio bred has won five of his last six starts. The Yankee Cruiser colt finished 30-1 in the Little Brown Jug Future Wager.

Odds and Ends

“Big” Loss
Big Jim, winner of the 2010 Breeders Crown 2-year-old colt pace was retired from racing after suffering injuries to both rear ankles. The Western Ideal colt was four for 10 this season and had lifetime earnings of $1,541,924. He established his lifetime mark of 1:49.1 as a 2-year-old.

Overnight Sensation?
The complete stakes and overnight schedules for the 2011 Delaware County Fair have been released and can be found on www.littlebrownjug.com.

It was also announced that for the first time a half-mile pace will be contested on Wednesday, September 21. The pace is for horses and geldings who have won more than $1,000 but less than $5,000 in 2011. The estimated purse is $2,500. The world record for a half-mile sprint is :54.2 and was set at Northfield Park in 1996.
