Delaware, OH — For the next few weeks the Little Brown Jug’s Assistant Publicity Director Jay Wolf will feature the top LBJ contenders for the 66th edition of the race on September 22.

1. Roll With Joe (Last Week #1)
Owners: Blue Chip Bloodstock (NY), Stephen Demeter (NY), Not To Worry Stable (NY) and Winbak Farms (MD)
Trainer: Ed Hart– Driver: Ron Pierce
Lifetime Earnings: $1,375,457–Lifetime Mark: 1:48.2
Did not race last week. He drew the outside post eight for the $342,875 Cane Pace Final on September 10 at Tioga Downs.

2. Big Bad John (#2)
Owner: Winchester Baye Acres, Inc. (FL)
Trainer: Ron Potter–Drivers: David Miller and Brett Miller
Lifetime Earnings: $568,732–Lifetime Mark: 1:49
The Western Hanover colt will be racing in the $200,000 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes Final on September 5 at Harrah’s Chester.

3. Custard The Dragon (#4)

Trainer: George Teague, Jr.–Driver: Montrell Teague

Will face-off with Big Bad John in the $200,000 PASS Final on September 5.

4. See You At Peelers (#3)
Owners: Christina Takter (NJ), John Fielding (ON) and Jim Fielding (ON)
Trainer: Jimmy Takter–Driver: Marcus Johansson
Lifetime Earnings: $1,485,952–Lifetime Mark: 1:49.2f
The filly is now 22 for 23. She finished sixth in the $193,158 Nadia Lobell Stake at the Meadows. She had post nine and was forced to set the speedy fractions of :26.1, :53.1 and 1:21.1 before fading in the lane. She was named the 3-1 favorite in the first LBJ Future Wager.

5. High Noon (#5)

Is having bad luck in the post draws. He had post eight in the Battle of the Brandywine and will have post nine in the Cane Pace Final at Tioga.

6. Shadyshark Hanover (#6)

Will leave from post five in the $342,875 Cane Pace Final on September 10.

7. Powerful Mist (#7)

The Powerful Toy colt drew the coveted rail spot in the Cane Pace Final.

8. Wink N Atcha (#8)

10. Dancin Yankee (NR)

Trainer: Josh Green–Driver: Kyle Ater
Lifetime Earnings: $122,620–Lifetime Mark: 1:50.2.f
The Ohio bred has won five of his last six starts. The Yankee Cruiser colt finished 30-1 in the Little Brown Jug Future Wager.

Odds and Ends

“Big” Loss
Big Jim, winner of the 2010 Breeders Crown 2-year-old colt pace was retired from racing after suffering injuries to both rear ankles.
The Western Ideal colt was four for 10 this season and had lifetime earnings of $1,541,924. He established his lifetime mark of 1:49.1 as a 2-year-old.

Overnight Sensation?
The complete stakes and overnight schedules for the 2011 Delaware County Fair have been released and can be found on
www.littlebrownjug.com.

It was also announced that for the first time a half-mile pace will be contested on Wednesday, September 21. The pace is for horses and geldings who have won more than $1,000 but less than $5,000 in 2011. The estimated purse is $2,500. The world record for a half-mile sprint is :54.2 and was set at Northfield Park in 1996.
