Top pacers vie for divisional honors

Freehold, NJ — Winners of divisional honors, as voted upon by the U.S. Harness Writers Association, will be announced Tuesday, Dec. 28. Winners of Pacer, Trotter and Horse of the Year will be announced February 27 at USHWA’s annual awards dinner, which will be held at the Marriott in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Here is a look at the top pacers in earnings in each division. Trotters will be featured in the next HRC Newsletter on Dec. 22.

Three-year-old male pacer Rock N Roll Heaven finished the year as the No. 1-ranked horse in the Hambletonian/Breeders Crown Top 10 poll. Older male pacer Won The West was second while 3-year-old filly pacer Put On A Show was third, older male pacer Shark Gesture was sixth, 2-year-old filly pacer See You At Peelers was seventh, older female pacer Dreamfair Eternal was eighth and 3-year-old male pacer One More Laugh was 10th.

2-Year-Old Male Pacers

Top 5 in earnings: 1. Big Jim, $827,204; 2. Mystician, $780,312; 3. Feel Like A Fool, $568,786; 4. Shadyshark Hanover, $518,826; 5. Fashion Delight, $510,555.
