Track records tied at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Prayer Session tied the Rosecroft Raceway all-age trotting track record Tuesday night (May 19), scoring in 1:53.4 for driver Jonathan Roberts in the Open Handicap Trot.
Leaving from post seven, Roberts tucked in fourth with Prayer Session and then sprinted a :56.2 back half, taking over the lead just past the half to join Chinese Cuisine as Rosecroft’s fastest trotter ever. Trish Foulk conditions the 6-year old son of Like A Prayer who was bred in Maryland by Eli Solomon.
Two races later, Sean Bier sent Calcutta to the front from post six in :26.4 and never looked back, equaling the older mare trotting record of 1:55.4. Betsy Brown trains Calcutta for owner Terry Kibler.
Bier had four wins on the night, while his brother Daryl netted two. He won the Open Handicap Pace with Bandolito in 1:49.4 and the Open Handicap Pace for mares with Little Miss Woohoo in 1:53. The mare is trained by Clyde Oglesby, who is having a career meet, leading the Rosecroft trainer standings with 13 wins.
