Jonathan Groff, son of longtime Pennsylvania trainer Jim Groff, will begin a story arc on the popular show tonight at 9:28 p.m. as the character Jesse St. James, who becomes a romantic rival for lead character Rachel Berry (Lea Michele).

Jonathan Groff, who shot to stardom in the Tony Award winning play “Spring Awakenings” and appeared recently in the film “Taking Woodstock,” is Jim Groff’s youngest of two sons, and in 2007 he sang the National Anthem before the Hambletonian at the Meadowlands.

The Groffs were featured in the July 2007 issue of Hoof Beats, which can be viewed by clicking on this link.
