Springfield, IL — Grand Circuit racing continued on Tuesday (Aug. 18) at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield with a trio of Review Stakes for 3-year-olds.

In the $18,200 event for 3-year-old trotters, Ky Lucky came first-over at the three-quarter pole and went on to a 1:58 victory for driver Kyle Wilfong. Bands Muse (Pat Curtin) was second and Showmethe Z Tam (Casey Leonard) finished third.

The winner is owned by Craig Grummel, Curt Grummel and Chili Day Stables and is trained by Curt Grummel. The son of Malabar Millennium-Rosalita was making his first start of the 2015 season and the 1:58 time was a new lifetime mark.

Unraced as a 2-year-old, Callhimafool was a winner for the fifth time in 12 starts this year. Trained by Richard Schrock, he is owned by Rick Schrock Stable and Robert Venable.

The $10,900 Review Stakes for 3-year-old pacing fillies went to Rockn Legend and driver Robert Smolin in 1:55. The winner took advantage of a pocket trip behind Bs Tyrichess (Mike Oosting) and then edged past that one in the stretch for a half-length victory, thanks to pacing her final quarter in :25.3. Rocknrollgirl (Sam Widger) finished third.

Mike Clucas owns the daughter of Rocknroll Hanover-Maxines Legacy, who posted her third win in 12 season’s starts. Merv Chupp is the trainer.
