Trio of lucrative invitationals set for May 24 at Harrah’s Philadelphia

Chester, PA — Harrah’s Philadelphia is proud to present the Betsy Ross, Maxie Lee Memorial, and the Jerry Taylor Invitational, scheduled for Sunday (May 24).

All three are invitational events and will go for a purse of $150,000.

The Betsy Ross, an annual event for the top pacing mares in the sport, was won last year by the ageless super mare Anndrovette, while last year’s Maxie Lee for older trotters went to Market Share in a 1:50.2 clocking that was a world record over a five-eighths-mile track. The Jerry Taylor Invitational, which is a new addition to the stakes schedule, is for older pacers.

Any owner or trainer who is interested in racing in the Betsy Ross (pacing mares), Maxie Lee Memorial (free-for-all trotters), or the Jerry Taylor Invitational (older pacers) is encouraged to contact the Harrah’s Philadelphia race office at 484.490.2222.
