Freehold, NJ — Three eliminations for the C$475,000 Peaceful Way for 2-year-old filly trotters are on tap Thursday (Sept. 9) at Mohawk Racetrack. Jimmy Takter’s Thatsnotmyname, who won the $437,000 Merrie Annabelle at the Meadowlands on August 7, is among the top hopefuls.

Thatsnotmyname went off stride from post 10 in her Champlain Stakes division on September 2 at Mohawk, but Takter thinks she will be fine this week.

“The track was so hard up here and she couldn’t get over it good,” Takter said. “We had to do a little adjustment on her and hopefully we get it to work out this week. She couldn’t put up with it. I had to try to put a little shock absorber on her. She trained nicely the other day. She’ll be all right. She’s tough, that filly.”

Takter’s Global Desire, who won her Champlain division last week, also is ready for the Peaceful Way elims.

“She raced really good,” Takter said. “She had a hard trip; she was parked the whole mile. I was very happy with her. They’re both very nice horses. They both belong in the top and should be OK there.”

Martiniontherocks, another Champlain winner, is the favorite in the remaining Peaceful Way elim.
