Trio of Race for the G-Note divisions on Saturday at Meadowlands

from the Meadowlands Media Relations Department

East Rutherford, NJ — Saturday (April 8) brings an 11-race card to The Meadowlands. Among those are three divisions of the popular Race for the G-Note series for conditioned/optional claiming pacers which offer a diverse mix of horses in large fields spread over races eight, 10 and 11.

The short series will cover two preliminary legs leading into a $17,500 final three weeks hence.

The featured sixth race is a $20,000 conditioned pace highlighted by City Hall returning to the scene of his greatest successes. He’ll begin from post position four in the hands of driver Tyler Buter who owns the pacer in partnership with Gene Oldford. Amber Buter is the trainer.

City Hall has demonstrated a great affinity for the big track and has found his best form since being moved off the half- mile tracks with three wins in four March starts, the fastest a 1:50.2 score a month ago.

He faces an even group that includes Rodeo Romeo who moves up a notch off last week’s score and will contend along with the ageless pair of Bullet Bob and Alberto Contador N.

Saturday is an important day on the road to the May 6 Kentucky Derby with key preps scattered across the nation including the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct, the Bluegrass Stakes at Keeneland and the Santa Anita Derby in California. All are available for you wagering pleasure in the various Meadowlands simulcast enclosures.

The Tax Relief Sweepstakes promotion continues while dining and wagering options remain constant. Free program pages on the late Pick-4 wager are yours for the clicking.

Post time is 7:15 p.m.
