Trixton colt tops Italian yearling sale

Emiral As, a colt sired by Trixton and out of the Italian mare, Galiera AS (SJ’s Photo) was sold for 220.000 Euros, or $260,000, and was the most expensive yearling at the sale, which took place Monday afternoon (Sept. 13) in Northern Italy. The ITS sale is the most prestigious in Italy.

Emiral AS was bought by the Swedish trainer Reijo Liljendahl, who has had success with an elder brother to Emoral As, named Admiral As (sired by Ready Cash).

Admiral As has 14 wins from 24 races and has a mark of 1.54f taken in a race over 1-5/16 mile.

Admiral As was sold as a yearling for a record 360.000 Euros or $425,000.

The second-highest price at the sale was for a filly sired by Walner, Evita di Venere out of Keystone Carly (Cantab Hall) 1.59.4 – $33.082 – this is her first foal.
