Trotting fillies to tangle in $50,000 Circle City

from Indiana Downs

Shelbyville, IN — A field of nine freshman filly trotters will go to the post on Tuesday, August 17, in the $50,000 Circle City at Indiana Downs. The contest will serve as a prep race for the field, with all eligible to the August 24 Kentuckiana Stallion Management Stakes, also hosted at the Shelbyville track. The group consists of a quartet of two-horse entries.

Trainer Doug Rideout will send out a pair of fillies in Touch Of Grace and Clock Work. Touch Of Grace, owned by Dr. Alan White, shows a second-place finish in four starts. The Cash Hall filly will start from post two with Rideout in the bike. Here Comes Herbie’s 2-year-old Clock Work ships to Indiana Downs after two starts at Mohawk. Owned by White and Julie Rideout, the filly has drawn post six with Walter Haynes, Jr. at the lines.

Dan Shetler has also entered an entry consisting of Cantab Hall filly Always Yours and Yankee Glide lass Lost Symbol. Always Yours, owned by the trainer and his wife, Jo Anne, has a third-place tally in two starts and has drawn post five. The James Wilhite owned Lost Symbol will make her debut coming off a 2:00.3 qualifier at the Meadowlands. With Mark O’Mara set to drive, she lines up behind the gate fourth.

The Chris Beaver-trained tandem of Tantalizing Donna and Finaltab Hanover has drawn posts eight and nine in the fourth race on the program. Tantalizing Donna, a homebred Donerail filly owned by Eliezer Solomon has yet to hit the board in three starts. Trace Tetrick will get the drive. Finaltab Hanover, a Cantab Hall freshman, has collected a runner-up effort in three outings. She is owned by Kerry Beaver, Luc Ouellette and Zorica Martinovic, and will be driven by Ricky Macomber.

Tony Alagna will send out a pair of uncoupled fillies in the Circle City. Montage, a Yankee Glide daughter, has drawn the rail for owners Brenda and Isaac Waxman. She has made two starts at the Meadowlands, earning a third-place finish in her debut. Dale Hiteman is listed as driver. Tawesome More will start from the outside in her first career start. The Muscles Yankee filly is owned by New Jersey-based Bloodstock Farm & Stables, with Andy Miller slated to drive.

Search For Reality, the most accomplished filly in the field, will line up third for trainer Roger Welch. With four starts to her credit, the Psychic Spirit 2-year-old has hit the board three times. She will be guided by Indiana Downs’ leading driver Peter Wrenn.

A pair of $40,000 Indiana Sires Stakes for sophomore filly pacers also highlight Tuesday’s card. Steve and Tammy Carter’s Dark Alley Sally will attempt to extend her winning streak to eight straight in the first division. The Third Straight filly, winner of the $200,000 ISS final at Hoosier Park, has banked $178,000 this season for her connections. She has drawn post four in the field of 11.

Fellow Third Straight filly Bluebird Regal is the morning line favorite in the second split. Twice a winner in four seasonal starts, the Darryl Lyons-trained 3-year-old will look to rebound from a fourth-place finish in the first leg held at Indiana Downs.
