Washington, PA — True Blue Stride atoned for his miscue last week by blowing away an accomplished field in a career-best 1:53.1 in Wednesday’s (Aug. 30) $15,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

True Blue Stride sets a lifetime mark of 1:53.1 at The Meadows on Wednesday afternoon.

True Blue Stride made his Meadows debut Aug. 23 after logging impressive performances at Harrah’s Philadelphia, Mohawk and The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, but he broke stride as the even-money favorite.

On Wednesday, he made a similar backside move for Dave Palone and kept rolling, defeating Don’t Rush by 7-3/4 lengths. Classic Banker rallied for show.

Ron Burke trains True Blue Stride, a 5-year-old Muscle Hill-Sabrina Hall gelding who extended his lifetime bankroll to $111,656, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Jim Pantaleano piloted three winners on the 12-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Saturday, when the program features eight Pennsylvania Stallion Series championships, each with a purse of $40,000. First post is 1:05 PM.
