TVG Get Away Amateur Series to conclude Saturday

by David Siegel, for the California Amateur Driving Club

Sacramento, CA — The final two legs of the 2011 TVG Get Away Amateur Series will take place on Saturday (June 18) at Cal-Expo.

Amanda Fraser appears to be the driving favorite as she is driving a 2-5 favorite, Laredos Goose, from the rail. Karen Isbell will try to upset as she drives the favorite in the other leg.

George Reider’s Laredos Goose is the points leader for the horses and has his eyes set on 30 percent of the bonus pool to be disbursed. Of $8,200 in bonus monies, $1,500 in starter fees will be returned to the horses, leaving $6,700 to be distributed among the top 10 point finishers in this event for lowest level claimers.

The winning driver of this event will represent the California Amateur Driving Club at the Delaware County Fairgrounds during the Tim Fouts race which takes place during Jug week this September. The California Driving Championship will be determined this fall when points garnered during a planned autumn series are added to the drivers’ points accumulated during this TVG Get Away series.

Free programs and selections for the complete Saturday card can be accessed at www.trackmaster.com/calx.
