Chester, PA — There were two divisions of a Non-winners of $18,800 in the last five starts for trotters on a snowy Thursday afternoon (Dec. 11) from Harrah’s Philadelphia.

The first division was won by Stake Your Claim Stable and Martin Sternberg’s Uva Hanover (Tim Tetrick). The 3-year-old gelding came away with pocket-position from post one. He drafted behind the speed of veteran trotter Bastille (Dave Miller) and was able to drive up the passing lane for a one-length victory, stopping the clock in 1:56. It was Uva Hanover’s eighth career win in just his twenty-first start. He paid $3.60.

The second division went to Keystone Trotters’ Fox Valley Smarty (Marcus Miller). The 7-year-old was strong off the gate, clearing the lead to the quarter and holding off several challengers along the way. It Really Matters (Brett Miller) traded strides with the winner from the five-eighths pole to mid-stretch, before tiring late in the lane. It was Fox Valley Smarty’s second straight win in his fifth start for trainer Neal Ehrhart. He returned a handsome mutuel of $27.60 to win.

There are just two more days left in the 2014 live racing season at Harrah’s Philadelphia, Thursday and Sunday with first posts of 12:40 P.M.
