Twitter hashtag announced for annual Congress

by Dan Leary, USTA director of marketing and communications

Columbus, OH — This weekend’s Harness Racing Congress promises to be full of insightful panels, discussions and meetings. The social network Twitter has proven to be an invaluable resource for those at the Congress and following remotely to share information and comment on the festivities.

In order to curate the tweets, Twitter users are encouraged to use the hashtag #RacingCongress when tweeting about the Congress. Hashtags are keywords preceded by the “#” symbol within tweets that, when clicked, display all other tweets marked with the same keywords.

Key events during the Congress weekend will include the two sets of blue-ribbon panel discussions, addressing the major issues facing the sport today, which will be held on both Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon; and the Dan Patch Awards banquet, honoring the best and brightest stars of harness racing in 2012, on Sunday, with cocktails starting at 6 p.m. and dinner/awards at 7:30 p.m.

The USTA will also hold its annual board of directors meetings throughout the weekend.
