Pompano Beach, FL — Two key match-ups highlight the Wednesday (Oct. 4) program at Pompano Park with All Charged Up and Godiva Seelster matching hooves in the Open Pace for Mares with Prairie Fortune and Boli expected to match strides in the Open Trot.

Godiva Seelster, the ultra-consistent 7-year-old daughter of Camluck, has a 43-39-21 scorecard in her 132 lifetime starts and has missed only two checks in her past 123 starts covering the past five seasons. She’s banked $407,977 during her illustrious career. Trained by Dan Hennessey for owners Paul and Patricia O’Neil, Godiva Seelster will have the driving services of Hall of Famer Wally Hennessey.

All Charged Up, a 6-year-old daughter of Ponder, looks to pierce the $250,000 mark in lifetime bounty and comes off a season’s best 1:51.4 wire-to-wire performance at Vernon Downs in her last start on Sept. 23. Owned by J P Stables, All Charged Up will be driven by trainer John MacDonald.

Islay, Excelerated Speed, Goldstar Rockette and Embassy Seelster complete the talented field.

The Florida bred Prairie Fortune, a gelded son of Arapa Victory, has compiled 34 wins in 74 lifetime starts, good for $260,120 for Laurie Poulin, who co-owns with trainer Mike Deters. This semester, Prairie Fortune has banked $55,575 with his fastest winning performance a 1:53.2 win up at Tioga Downs. Jim Meittinis will be back of Prairie Fortune on Wednesday night.

Boli, a 5-year-old altered son of Kadabra, has 23 career wins in 67 starts, including his mark of 1:54.2 at Pompano Park. Also owned by Paul and Patricia O’Neil, Boli has on his resume some memorable performances, including one where he spotted his foes 25 lengths at the start and came on to win by a nose, prompting driver Wally Hennessey to say, “Horses just don’t do that kind of thing…they just don’t! It was incredible!” Wally will be in the sulky for trainer and brother Dan Hennessey.

Skyway Pippen, Geronimo Fame, BJAnthony and Uncle Hanover round out that classy sextet.

Post time is set for 7:25 p.m. for the mid-week card.
