Two weekends remain at Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — Only two weekends remain in Eldorado Scioto Downs 2016 live race meet.

On Friday (Sept. 2), the 11-race card is highlighted by the fifth race, $25,000 Open Trot. Final Breath, fresh off his track record-setting (for older geldings) 1:52.2 performance takes on a solid field of six challengers. Trained by Duane Lowe, he will again be driven by Kayne Kauffman and will attempt to reprise last week’s memorable performance.

On Saturday (Sept. 3), a stellar 12-race card will be highlighted by the Open Pace. Race seven features a battle between two horses coming in off sub-1:50 victories. Swing City, who comes in off the meet’s fastest clocking in 1:49.2 will battle Hawks Red Chief and seven other rivals for the $25,000 purse. Hawks Red Chief, trained by Ron Burke, comes in off a victory in 1:49.4 at The Meadows Racetrack in Western Pennsylvania.

First post time for both Friday and Saturday’s racing action at Eldorado Scioto Downs is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (EDT).

The schedule for the final week of Eldorado Scioto Downs’ 2016 live racing meet is as follows: Matinee action for the Labor Day Holiday (Monday, Sept. 5). The card will feature all eight Ohio Sire Stakes consolation events for each gait, age and sex. First post time will be 2 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 6) will be dark for live racing and the final four race cards of the meet will occur on consecutive evenings, Wednesday (Sept. 7) through Saturday (Sept. 10).

Saturday’s card with feature two of the biggest races of the meet, the $100,000 Chip Noble Memorial for the trotters and the $225,000 Jim Ewart Memorial on the pace.

First post time for all evening race cards is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
