Mack Grace SM rules in Italy

For the third year in a row, the 8-year old trotter Mack Grace SM, driven by Robert Andreghetti, won the prestigious Gran Premio Lotteria at the Agnano Track in Naples on Sunday afternoon (May 4).

Mack Grace SM was again in a class of his own and won handily in 1:54.1f, followed by Napoleon Bar, driven by Enrico Bellei, and No Mans Land, driven by Pietro Gubellini.

The Lotteria is a heat race with three eliminations, which were won by Monster Drive of Sweden, driven by Jorma Kontio in 1:55.1, Mack Grace SM, driven by Roberto Andreghetti in 1:54.2 and No Mans Land, driven by Pietro Gubellini in 1:56.1.

Mack Grace SM picked up a check in the elimination of $12,000 and the win in the final was worth $230,000.

He is the third trotter to win the Lotteria three times in a row; the French mare Unbe de Mai and the legendary Varenne had done it earlier.

The 8-year-old Mack Grace SM is sired by CC’s Chuckie T (by Malabar Man) and is out of a mare by Armbro Goal.

Mack Grace SM has now won 48 races from 94 starts and has total earnings of $2.4 million.
