Jojo On The Gogo was a 1:59.3 winner.

Jojo On The Gogo, driven by Sylvain Filion, went gate-to-wire in the first division, defeating heavily-favored Rockin With Dewey (Mario Baillargeon).

Filion immediately sent his charge to command before the opening station in :28.2. Samartina (Paul MacDonell) was in the pocket with Hula Magic (Randy Waples) sitting third. Jojo On The Gogo then led her seven rivals past the half in :59.1 and three-quarters in 1:29.1.

Turning for home, Jojo On The Gogo was under pressure from Frisky Magic (Per Henriksen) and Rockin With Dewey in deep stretch, but fended off both challengers en route to a 1:59.3 score.

Jojo On The Gogo provided the 6-1 upset for new trainer Richard Moreau and owners Stephanie and Brian Cassell. It was a maiden-breaking win for the daughter of Donato Hanover who watched her earnings increase to C$26,310 with the victory.

Bop Too The Top and Steve Byron provided the 30-1 stunner in the second division.

Lily Pad Hanover (Billy Davis, Jr.) was first to the quarter in :27.1. Heading towards the half, heavily-favored Lipstick Rose (Rick Zeron) angled out of the pocket and struck the front before the half in :57.2. Lipstick Rose would continue to lead past three-quarters in 1:27.4.

Down the stretch, Lipstick Rose began to tire as the backfield was closing in. Miss Panthers (Luc Ouellette) overtook command, but couldn’t hold off a late rally from Bop Too The Top, who exploded in deep stretch to score the 1:58.3 win. Miss Panthers stayed for second, with Her Name Is Lola (Paul MacDonell) finishing third.

With the win, Bop Too The Top earned her second career win for trainer John Bax and the partnership of Parkhill Stud Farm, Glengate Farms and Lorne Johnson. The daughter of Muscle Mass increased her career earnings to C$32,330.

The C$25,000 final will go to post on Monday (May 6).
