Upsets in PA All-Stars at Pocono

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Upsets were the rule during a Sunday (Aug. 30) twilight card at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, with Enough Sun ($29.00) and Tell Them Lou ($45.20) lighting up the tote board in their respective $35,000 Pennsylvania All-Stars events for 3-year-old pacing colts.

The Somebeachsomewhere colt Enough Sun was content to stay behind favorite Manticore and Tru Lou most of the way, and then swung wide to pass four horses in the lane and defeat Manticore by a half length in a lifetime best 1:50. David Miller drove the winner for trainer Brian Brown and owner Alan Keith.

Driver Scott Zeron teamed up with Tell Them Lou to take the other division in 1:50.2. Favorite Cattlewash got to the half in :56 and looked like he could be tough to overhaul, but Tell Them Lou found clearance along the inside and overpowered the 1-5 public choice, pacing his own last half in :54 for a one-length victory. Jim Campbell trains the Sweet Lou gelding for Fashion Farms LLC and Judith Peres.

In the $14,000 conditioned distaff pacing feature, the veteran Lispatty sat behind Alexa’s Power most of the mile, and then overpowered the pacesetter by three-quarters of a length in 1:51.2. Marcus Miller drove the McArdle mare, who has now won $959,799 and 37 races, for trainer Gilbert Garcia-Herrera and owner Gilbert Garcia-Owen.
