USA trip for Prix d’Amerique winner Face Time Bourbon postponed to 2022

Sebastian Guarato wants to race his star trotter, Face Time Bourbon, twice winner of the Prix d’Amerique, at The Red Mile in Lexington.

“I believe that Face Time Bourbon will go 1:48 or better in Lexington,” Guarato said in an interview with Kanal 75 in Sweden last weekend.

Guarato indicated in the interview that he might ship Face Time Bourbon to Lexington this autumn.

But after the impressive win in the Prix d’Amerique Sunday afternoon, where Face Time Bourbon won in a new race record of 1:54 (mile rate), Guarato plans to manage Face Time Bourbon to try to win a third consecutive time in the Prix d’Amerique. Only four trotters have earlier done that: Uranie in 1926-1928, Roquepine in 1966-1968, Bellino II in 1975-1977 and Ourasi in 1986-1988. Ourasi also won in 1990.

And therefore, a trip to the United States will be postponed until 2022.
