USHDC returns to Kentucky, to race at Cumberland Run in Fall

Corbin, KY — United States Harness Drivers Club president Dein Spriggs is happy to announce that the club will partner with Cumberland Run Race Track to present two amateur races per week when the Corbin, Ky., facility kicks off its inaugural racing season next month.

Amateur races featuring USHDC drivers are tentatively scheduled to be held on four consecutive Sundays — Oct. 15, Oct. 22, Oct. 29, and Nov. 5.

The condition classes are:

1. NW $2,000 L4; AE $5,000 claimer. Purse: $9,000

2. NW $4,000 L4; AE $7,000-$8,000 claimer. Purse: $11,000

The USHDC, formerly the Florida Amateur Drivers Club, was founded in 1998 and has donated over $300,000 in drivers fees to an array of charities, including equine rescue organizations and Standardbred retirement facilities, since then. This will be the club’s second extended stay in Kentucky. In July, it concluded a successful stand of races in the Commonwealth during the Oak Grove meeting.
