USTA at Blooded Horse Sale

Columbus, OH — The USTA will have its member services table at the Blooded Horse Sale Tuesday through Thursday (November 19-21) at the Champions Center Expo in Springfield, Ohio.

Member services representatives will be available to process ownership transfers, memberships and Hoof Beats subscriptions, take foal registrations, look up Pathway reports, and conduct any other USTA business. Assistance in setting up a USTA MyAccount is also available so members can access Seller Signatures (for when a horse is consigned to a participating sale), Owner’s Dashboard (free program pages for horses you own) and so much more. Select books and logo items will also be available for sale.

For horses purchased at the sale that do not yet have a microchip, they can be done while still on the premises for a special $30 rate; stop by the USTA table outside the sales office to set-up time before you ship out. All racehorses that are currently freeze branded or tattooed must be microchipped by the time they race for the first time in 2021. An exciting feature of the biothermal microchip from Merck/HomeAgain is that when scanned, your horse’s temperature will be displayed on the reader, along with the microchip number.

There are two types of scanners available for purchase through the USTA online store or at the Blooded Horse Sale – the basic reader at $69 and the Bluetooth reader at $279. The USTA has created the USTA Chip ID smartphone app that connects with the Bluetooth reader and translates your horse’s microchip number to their name and registration number (similar to the free Horse ID search on the USTA website). The app can be downloaded for free in Google Play or the App Store.

Acceptable means of payment while at the sale include cash, check and credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express) for all USTA products and services.
