Columbus, OH — On Sunday (Jan. 5) more than 60 USTA members gathered at the Hilton in Sacramento, Calif., to conduct the annual business meeting for District 3.

In other business, Chairman Axelrod announced that the USTA will welcome a new board member representing District 3. Ben Kenney was selected by the management of Watch and Wager LLC, the current operators of Cal Expo racetrack.

Kenney, who originally hails from Lexington, Ky., brings along an extensive racing background in both track management as well as from his prior capacity in representing the horsemen of California.

Wrapping up the meeting was USTA director Chris Schick, who was able to bring everyone up to date on the status of racing at the Cal Expo facility.
