USTA golf outing is a success

by Jessica Schroeder, USTA Outreach & Membership Enrichment Coordinator

Columbus, OH — After a full accounting of the event and with the final expenses paid, the 15th annual USTA golf outing raised just over $1,700 for joint youth initiatives of the USTA and the Harness Horse Youth Foundation.

Held during the busy Little Brown Jug week at the Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio, 44 golfers were treated to great weather, drinks, food and camaraderie between horsemen and fans from many states.

Overall lowest score winners were John Martin and Don Temple with other flight winners being Jim Pollock, Jr. and Mikala Pollock, Steve and Brenda McCoy and Tim Ungashick and Mike Watkins. Flight winners were entered for a drawing for 2012 or 2013 Hospitality Tent tickets for Jugette Day of which Mikayla Pollock won and opted to use next year.

Thank you to corporate sponsors Univet and Up Front Racing LLC for their generous support as well as hole sponsors Balmoral and Maywood Parks, Blooded Horse Sales Company, Delaware Standardbred Owners Association, Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen’s Association, Scioto Downs Racino, Van Gundy Insurance and the Western New York Harness Horsemen’s Association.
