USTA joins Right Horse Initiative

Columbus, OH — The USTA has joined forces with The Right Horse Initiative (TRH). This collective of equine industry and welfare professionals and advocates, a program of the ASPCA, works together to improve the lives of horses in transition and increase horse adoption in the United States.

The month of May is The Right Horse’s first-ever Adopt A Horse Month and kicks off April 26 with Help a Horse Day.

“Throughout Adopt a Horse Month we’ll be promoting specific adoptable horses, sharing blogs and videos, highlighting great adoption agencies, and inviting our community to join us in celebrating all things adoption,” said Christie Schulte Kappert, Program Director for TRH.

Moving forward, the USTA, TRH, and its other industry partners, will collaborate on best practices, new ideas and initiatives to further promote adoption of horses.

“The USTA has been working on a few projects that focus on our off-the-track Standardbreds,” said TC Lane, the USTA’s COO. “Meeting with The Right Horse, we hope to learn from their industry partners’ success stories and see what we can implement to promote our Standardbreds as riding and pleasure driving horses.”
