This updated version makes the handbook current through 2013 and includes 30 new pages that explain changes in the Tax Code and updates on recent court case decisions.

The original 2011 Horse Owners & Breeders Tax Handbook is a two-volume edition that contains all of the pertinent information about tax laws for an equine business. Volume one explains the Internal Revenue Code as it pertains to the U.S. horse industry. Volume two includes case studies where horse businesses have had dealings with the IRS, both favorable and unfavorable.

Topics covered in the Handbook include: business versus hobby — including summaries of important court decisions; passive loss rules; forms of doing business; record keeping and accounting rules; sales, exchanges and involuntary conversions; depreciation and more.

For the first time ever, the Handbook is also available as a CD, which has a search function to research specific subjects quickly.

For those that already have volumes I and II, the separate 2013 update is also available for sale for $10 plus shipping and handling.
