USTA redesigns Stallion Registry

by John Pawlak, the U.S. Trotting Association

Columbus, OH — STARS, the USTA’s online Standardbred Roster of Stallions (http://stars.ustrotting.com), has been completely redesigned and revitalized to make it an even more valuable tool for owners of stallions and mares.

The most exciting new feature is the ability to search all stallions standing in the United States. Information for each of these stallions, including the stallion’s state of residence, gait, stud fee, the farm at which it stands for duty and the name of its sire, are provided without charge.

The owners of about 90 stallions have elected to provide — free to those who visit STARS — additional information regarding these stallions, including sire and dam detail, yearling sale results, progeny performance data, and “Crosses of Gold” and “Hypothetical Matings” from the USTA’s PATHWAY online statistical service.

Among the new features for these “premium” stallions is a full stallion guide-style pedigree page, and links to videos of that stallion (where available).

Current news items related to the Standardbred breeding industry also now appear on the STARS home page, giving breeders another reason to visit the site on a regular basis.

Stallion owners who would like to secure “premium” status for their horses on STARS are encouraged to contact Deveau Zubrod, at stars@ustrotting.com.
