USTA reminds owners and/or trainers to report castrations or spays

Columbus, OH — As another busy racing season gets underway, the USTA wants to remind owners and/or trainers to report their stable’s castrations or spays.

Per USTA Rule 20.11 these changes must be reported within 30 days of the castration or spay. Failure to report these alterations before a horse is declared to race or entered in a public sale may result in a fine of $250.

Notifications can be submitted by completing the Notification of Castration form and returning via email to memberservices@ustrotting.com, by fax to 844.299.1338 or by mail to the address on the form. You may also contact member services Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to report the change over the phone.
