V75 wager has carryover pool of $12.5 million

Stockholm, Sweden — The Swedish V75 wager had no payout for five correct due to the fact that the payment did not meet the minimum threshold required by the Swedish government on the Extra V75 races held on Sunday, May 31, thereby creating a carryover jackpot pool of $12.5 million for next Saturday’s (June 6) V75 races.

V75 races are run every Saturday in Sweden. In addition to the ordinary V75 meetings, there will be four Extra V75 meetings offered in 2009 (May 14, May 31, July 28 and Dec. 23).

Advance wagering begins on Wednesday and is open until the close of business on Friday. Bettors win the V75 by selecting the winners of seven consecutive races. Consolation payouts are made to bettors who select six or five winners.

The most popular bet on horse racing in the world in terms of pool size, V75 accounts for 40 percent of total pari-mutuel wagering in Sweden and has grown at a rate of 10 percent over the past five years.

The V75 is currently available in the United States at The Meadowlands Race Track, Monmouth Park, Freehold Raceway and at www.4NJBets.com in New Jersey. V75 is also available at Hawthorne Racecourse, Balmoral Park, Maywood Park and their Inter-Track Partners OTB’s in Illinois.
