Valley Sport was a 1:56.2 winner for Tony Morgan in the $26,000 Open Trot.

Tony Morgan took Valley Sport, owned by Lloyd Arnold, right to the front in a select field of six starters in the top trot to score a 1:56.2 success. Go Sassy Go and George Dennis took a serious shot at the leader on the backstretch, but to no avail. They did hold on to finish second. Tim Tetrick couldn’t find room with Master Pine until the final turn and closed for third.

Valley Sport, a son of unraced Valley Victor, has been 1-2-3 in 21 of 33 starts this season and has banked $187,615.

Elvis Cole made his first start since August a winning one as Corey Callahan sent the Lindy Lane gelding to the lead at the start and never looked back on their way to a 1:55.2 victory in the sub-featured trot. Rose Run Flash rolled down the lane with Tony Morgan to finish second in front of Magic Swan and Vic Kirby.

With the win, Elvis Cole has gone into six figures for purses won this year for owners Nick Callahan and J. Parker Callahan.

Jim Morand, Mike Cole, George Dennis, Ross Wolfenden and Tony Morgan accounted for 10 of the 15 wins on the card by winning two races each.
